Tips for Staying Motivated
- Keep it Fun!- Exercise doesn't have to be boring. Choose the activities that you enjoy the most. If you are not enjoying your workouts, choose something different. Any sport or activity will work- try a marital arts online class or ballroom dancing. Sometimes changing things up can make a difference.
- Make it Routine!- Try to schedule your workout or dance time. Schedule your workout time as you would any other activity.
- Write it Down!-What are your goals? How can you keep track of what you have done? Recording your efforts and marking down your activity can remind you that you are making progress.
- Encourage others to join you!- Invite others in your household to dance or exercise along with you. Push each other to keep going and have fun while exercising.
- Don't be hard on yourself!- If you miss a day or two or need a break from it, be gentle with yourself. The important thing is to get back on track as soon as you can!
